56 Degree Wine. Enjoy!
Domaine Pollier Saint Veran 2008 - This small family owned Domaine makes my favorite everyday white from a single vineyard parcel they own in St. Veran. Good weight but not over the top at all, beautiful stony fruit, balancing acidities, totally versatile and food friendly. Perfect all on its own too, making this our go to house white. Simply cannot beat it for the price and quality. $17
Domaine Maillard Chorey les Beaune Blanc 2008 - Absolutely love this wine! Was the first we sampled as Pascal greeted us at our hotel after the overnighter from Newark and the car ride from Paris to Puligny - no rest for the weary and straight to work! It's fresh, crisp, and clean - loaded with minerality and lemony acidity, a focused solid core of stony fruit and kiss of oak. Drink young for refreshing bright qualities, but will age and develop putting on complexity and weight at least through 2015. $38
Bzikot Puligny Montrachet 2007 - Heavenly aromatics engulf the senses once this lacy, luscious wine enters the glass. Perfumed citrus, stones and "li-mon" are swirling about jockeying for attention. Medium-plus body belies its linear nature but there is no mistaking the superb length, tangelo tones and chalky, minerally resolution. A phenomenal village level wine to enjoy now through 2014. Crisp, stony and mineral, with hints of tropical fruit, lovely crisp underlying acidity. Drink it now or over the next 3-5 years. Love this! $59
